I’m originally from the Chicago suburbs, and moved to Missouri in 2008 (after a three year adventure in Las Vegas, Nevada).  I have previously taught 5th grade, as well as middle school special education (ELA), spent two years as an elementary Library Media Specialist, and have worked as an Instructional Designer for a major commercial refrigeration corporation in the St. Louis area.  

 

I hold a B.S. in Communicative Disorders, a Post-Baccalaureate in Elementary Education, and two Masters degrees: a M.Ed. in Educational Technology, and a M.A. in Education focusing in Library Media, and this fall I will be starting my Ph.D. at Emporia State University for Library and Information Management.  I am certified in K-12 Librarian and 1-6 Elementary Education.

 

I was named to the 2020 class of American Library Association (ALA) Emerging Leaders, and sponsored by the American Association of School Librarians (AASL).  I've been a member of the Missouri Association of School Librarians (MASL) Gateway Readers Awards Committee, and have presented at local, regional, state, and national conferences, including at the AASL National Conference in 2021.

I am the sponsor for the WCHS Epsilon Beta Library Club chapter, co-sponsor of the scholar bowl team, and was the assistant colorguard and winterguard instructor for the past four years.

 

Outside of school, I play oboe with the St. Charles Community College Concert Band, member of the Thomas Kennedy chapter (Warrenton MO) of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity, where I was PiB Province Officer for the regional area.  I am also a merit badge counselor and Scrip Coordinator for my son's Boy Scout troop.
